Recently, I visited this barber shop, enticed by high praise for the barber's charm and the shop's delightful decor. True to word, the ambiance was warm and the barber's conversation skills impressive. However, my haircut experience did not quite match up. Despite requesting a scissor cut, the haircut was surprisingly quick, finished in about five minutes with scant use of scissors. It's possible that as my appointment was close to closing time, the barber might have been tired or pressed for time. I hope this feedback is taken constructively, as there's clear potential for improvement in the haircutting aspect of the service. The barber is genuinely pleasant and with more focus on the craft, I believe the overall experience can be greatly enhanced for future customers.

I visited this barber shop for a haircut. The staff were lovely and the place was neat. The haircut was OK, but not great. The barber didn't seem to have much interest, he was bubbly however rushed my haircut as newer customers arrived. They cut my hair too short on one side and left it uneven. South Yarra Barber is fine if you just want a basic cut,

Went earlier today to get a haircut with my Dad, We have been getting our cuts from this man since I was a child when was originally in Glen Waverley (about 20 +years) he is always friendly and makes a great conversation. His prices are second to none and are nothing less than perfect. If your after a great shave or stylish haircut this is your man! Emilio deserves so much more credit for what he does. The negative reviews on here are not accurate in any way, don’t take any of them seriously!

Nice staff and barber shop however a bad haircut. Uneven, not blended and the scissor cut on top was literally 4 snips with the scissors. It was left choppy and uneven. Had to go somewhere else to get it fixed. So overall it cost $100 for a haircut. If more time had of been taken it might of turned out ok. Below average cut. Average - high prices.

Suggest avoiding unless you're fine with a 5 minute haircut for $40. Asked for a fade which didn't happen, asked for thinning down and he did two snips and that was it. Had to go somewhere else to get it done properly.

Just had my first ever haircut in Melbourne. Lovely place, amazing decor and has the old school authentic feel and comfort. Starting from the greetings to the end, they will make you feel so comfortable. About the haircut, Emilio is an expert. Period. No fancy free beer stuff, fantastic price - what else do you need? Lucky that I ignored the fake negative reviews here in Google! Will see you soon.
